Waiver

With any backcountry travel, there are inherent risks. Each activity at the DWL has a level of risk. Every guest must acknowledge these risks by signing a waiver of liability PRIOR to the trip. If a guest is unwilling to sign, they will not be allowed access to the sweet DWL terrain.

Insurance

The DWL highly recommends that you and your crew purchase the appropriate Insurance PRIOR to your trip. Although we are not affiliated in any way with Global Rescue, it may be worthwhile for you to consider signing up for their services to cover you or any of your guests, in the unfortunate event that anyone in your group is injured requiring medivac or rescue services.  Their services are described on their website www.globalrescue.com. 

Communication

It is mandatory that all groups carry a hand-held VHF radio. 2-3 per group of ten is recommended. Frequencies will be listed in the Welcome Package you'll receive once your booking is confirmed! 

The Lodge Keepers have one Satellite Phone for emergencies. The Lodge is also equip with Starlink Wifi. So don't worry, you'll be able to tell your friends and family at home how awesome your trip is. 

Emergency what if's!

This is when Insurance really rocks. Aside from that, DWL is stocked with Emergency equipment. Our teams at the Base and the Lodge are more than capable of handling an emergency situations. We've got you, and we've even shared our general procedure for the UNLIKELY, but most common backcountry scenarios.
